Uganda to officially pass ‘Kill The Gays’ bill
Uganda will officially pass the ‘Kill The Gays’ bill at the end of this year despite international criticism.
Speaker Rebecca Kadaga said the anti-gay bill will become law by December since most Ugandans ‘are demanding it’.
Referring to the law as a ‘Christmas gift’ to the population, she spoke of ‘the serious threat’ posed by homosexuals.
The law will broaden the criminalization of same-sex relationships by dividing homosexuality into two categories; aggravated homosexuality and the offense of homosexuality.
‘Aggravated homosexuality’ is defined as gay acts committed by parents or authority figures, HIV-positive people, pedophiles and repeat offenders. If convicted, they will face the death penalty.
The ‘offense of homosexuality’ includes same-sex sexual acts or being in a gay relationship, and will be prosecuted by life imprisonment.

The Catholic Church backs the bill:
The Catholic Church in Uganda has apparently changed its position on the country’s so-called “Kill the Gays” bill, calling on parliament to pass the measure.
The Ugandan Daily Monitor newspaper reported that Catholics joined in that new stance at the recent ecumenical conference organized by the Uganda Joint Christian Council, which represents Anglican, Catholic and Orthodox churches.
Bishops at the conference urged the parliamentary committee that is studying the bill to approve it and send it to the House. They said the proposed Anti-Homosexuality Law is needed in response to “an attack on the Bible and the institution of marriage,” the newspaper reported.

How much more evidence do we need to see how vile religion is?
Internet 'hacktivist' collective "anonymous" responded:
Anonymous targets Ugandan officials for 'kill the gays' bill
Anonymous hacktivists are targeting Ugandan officials after the Ugandan Speaker of Parliament promised to pass draconian anti-gay (“kill the gays”) legislation before the end of 2012.
On Monday, November 12, Ugandan Speaker Rebecca Kadaga told The Associated Press that Uganda's anti-gay bill will be passed before the end of 2012 as a “Christmas gift” to Ugandan Christians, despite vigorous and vocal international criticism of the odious legislation.
In response to the news, Anonymous New Jersey released a message via Pastebin in protest of the legislation, a message including the names, email addresses and other relevant information of members of Uganda’s Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs. The following is an excerpt from that message:
The "Kill the gays" bill has been reintroduced into the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs in Uganda... Let them know that we will not let this bill pass. And if it does they should expect us.

On this occasion, I encourage everyone to learn from the anons' example and protest the repulsive actions of the Ugandan theocrats.

As much as I respect and applaud Anon for their actions I will never take the role as an aggressor, that wouldn't make me any better than the vile, putrid, hate spewing mongrels that reside in the Ugandan government, or anywhere else. There has to be a other alternatives, it might not prove as effective, but at least one needn't cross that border.

Chuck: I have mixed feeling and find I agree with to some degree with both positions. We absolutely must work to eradicate superstition at every opportunity, within limits. For me those limits appear to be the same as drunkenmonkey’s, with a very important exception. I’m willing to be the aggressor against ideas that harm society but never against the individual. Words and logic are the only acceptable weapons in the struggle to kill superstition for crimes against humanity. It seems to me Anon is posting the personal information to sic people infected with the thug mentality on their targets. I can’t agree with that.
